The new mission statement for FIG 3.0 is:

The PHP Framework Interoperability Group (PHP-FIG) aims to advance the PHP ecosystem and promote good standards by bringing together projects and people in a shared forum for collaboration and discussion. It develops, encourages, and publicises technical and process standards informed by real-world experience as well as research and experimentation performed by itself and other projects in the PHP ecosystem. These standards form the basis of PHP Standard Recommendations (PSRs).
